February 2021 – Rotorua, Taupo, Opunake, Huntly, New Plymouth
Kia Ora whanau,
Im writing this post from Whakatu(Nelson) in Te Waipounamu. We are back for the 4th year in a row with a Maori portrait day tomorrow at the Beachcomber Hotel in Tahunanui. We usually come during the Nelson Anniversary weekend but this year we are here during the Waitangi long weekend.
Every year we come down here with all you need to create Kapa Haka Maori styled whanau portraits. We provide taonga, kakahu and moko stamps. Even a wahakura is waiting for our littlest members of the whanau. This year we have a few new taonga which i picked up from the Maori Markets at Blenheim. We put them to use today.
Wether you want to stand staunch with a taiaha, cradle your pepi or a framed portrait of a loved one we are happy to cater to you. We had a kuia in today who made portraits with her Raranga tohu and a kakahu she made.
As part of our attempt to be more active on our website we will be doing a monthly post covering our upcoming Portrait Days. Scroll down and click the Event poster to book in.
